keep your framing the 2 inch standoff and fill the void with cellulose insulation.. keep the label from the bag to show anyone who questions the firesafety of cellulose..or stick the label right in the void so your bonifides will be right there....

I was wondering how to fill around the base where my block chimney comes through the floor and the roof so there won't be a draft and still meet code of 2 inches from combustibles.
