We are renovating a house built in 1906.  There are a number of fireplaces, in excellent working order that we plan to renovate and use.  The fireplaces are gas and not woodburning  we plan to update the gas lines and install gas coal baskets.

The question I have is relative to the firebox itself.  Currently, the boxes are exposed “beat up” red brick.  I am trying to understand, or find, what options exist to replace and update this brick so it looks nicer.  Any thoughts?
