I am a Texan now living in Utah. The house we moved into had a sealed fireplace. Visual inspection indicates no obstructions on double (appr 8*8 flues). A smoke test revealed small blowback. My suspicions are that there are not adequate sources for fresh air, as the room is a coverted garage with no windows, and only an outside door with an entrance on the far side of the room to the main house.I realize the inefficiency of a fireplace but the significant other wants the roaring fire. The fireplace itself is masonary of not old construction and is 33′ wide and 30′ tall.If needing venting, of what size and location are required, as there is adequate wall space of wood construction on both sides of the fireplace. The house itself is not new and certainly not tight.
