Planning screen room addition to my house. We would like to put in a fireplace…but the $$$ for a wood-burning masonry fireplace is not there.
What ideas do y’all have that will give heat and ‘coziness’ for a screen room…gas radiant would of course be cheap, but I’d like to find something ‘nicer’.
WHat ideas can y’all throw my way?

Y'all and screen room must mean you're about 500 miles south of me. Up here, we describe our attached rooms by the seasons they can be used, usually three or, with heater and insulation, four. Since this is likely to be an occasional area, why not go with something that can be turned on and off safely and easily, like gas? Up here, many more of us are converting our fireplaces to gas just so we aren't sucking BTUs up the chimney while the embers die. We're planning on a free standing gas unit for our soon-to-be four season porch just for the convenience and safety reasons.
I've seen a lot of those Mexican clay pot wood burners for out side use..can ya rig up a chimney?
