I am cutting fish scales for some siding details out of PVC material. Pieces are 6″ wide with a 3″ radius. Material is 5/16″ thick.
What kind of reveal (distance from edge of curved (radius) edge to point of next upward one) would you say would look the best if these were installed in typical overlapping, shingle style. I know you all know what the reveal is but I just had to spell it out as for some reason I am not able to post any pictures.
I have looked at other “scales” in pictures but can’t get an idea of the dimension.
If it makes any difference, the whole area of fish scales will be 2′ tall and 11′ wide.

5 - 5 1/2 " from the bottom of the curve.... or whatever your normal exposure is for the common shingles
It's like building a dog house, firs measure the dog.
So, I'd say..go measure a fish.
