(insert string of random cuss words here).
DW and oldest son moving boxes today into MBR of new house. New maple floor (soft or silver maple), finished about a month ago (maybe 45 days) with two coats of Zinsser Sealcoat shellac and three coats of Minwax Water Based Poly for Floors. Anyway – box with sharp pointy object got slid across the floor, putting gouge through finish and likely into wood.
Any way to “fix” this without completely starting over?

Wives do things like that...
but overall, most of them are worth keeping

I gotta' agree with Piffen here. A new wife has got to be WAY more expensive than some floor refinishing.
At least for a good one.
For more than twenty minutes.

I knew somebody would intentionally misinterpret that. :(
No, the wife stays. The floor, however, is a different story. I'm tempted to sand it down a little and then reapply the floor poly in one area. It won't look great, but I think it might be less noticeable.
