I was sanding some lap marks left behind on a third coat of oil base poly on a new oak floor. I messed up and didn’t use a fine enough grit. I mistakenly thought that the fourth coat would fill in the scratches and make them invisable. They are somewhat invisable until the light hits them right and then I can see them.
Am I going to cause more problems by trying to sand them out with a random orbit sander or something and then just touch up the poly over that small area? Thanks for any advice. Brian

I think I would hand sand with the grain unless you have a bunch to do. Wipe spit on it to see if the sand marks come back.
