My husband and I bought a house 2 years ago that has 8 inch horizontal lap cedar siding which looked great at the time. Now the siding looks raw in some areas, boards are beginning to crack and nails have popped. I think the siding was pressure washed and stained just before we bought the house and I suspect the siding wasn’t thoroughly dried out before the finish was applied. My question is how do we fix it? We don’t know anything about cedar siding. What product lasts a long time and how do we prep the siding?
