We have a 20 ft by 50 ft finished room in our basement with a ceiling that is gyproc covered with a spray-on textured finish. The drain from the upstairs kitchen sink sprung a leak recently and I had to cut a 16 inch square hole in the ceiling to fix it. Does anyone know of a way to fix this small section of the textured finish so the repair won’t show? I don’t want to scrape off such a large area and start from scratch.
Thanks

Textured finishes can vary greatly. That being said, there is a "popcorn ceiling in a can" product that I have seen before. It all depends on your texture, little styrofoam pieces, thinned out mud, knocked down, etc. Good luck.
If can post a piture of the texture, it would help. Check out the paint section at HD or Lowes, there are a number of patching products.
I've dealt with similar and used the rattle can textures. If done right you won't be able to tell the difference, but, be patient. Buy an extra can and practice (on scrap board of similar size) to get the right feel, distance, angle, etc. and let it dry properly. The stuff isn't cheap but an extra can and practice and patience will pay off.
