I’m a fairly handy do-it-yourselfer about to apply housewrap, flashing, and Hardiplank siding to a small shed-roofed addition with lots of windows. I’ve seen professionals apply the materials, but I find there are quite a few differing opinions among them, especially on flashing. Does anyone know of an authoritative reference – book or video – on the topic?
Thanks for your help.

many methods but one rule,
Think like a drop of water and keep your laps facing down.
Excellence is its own reward!
Piffin said just what I was thinking when I read your post - think like water
also think of drainage such that water does not get trapped

Basically the same them that Piffin said, but with many, many more words.
Many thanks for the reference.
Gary Katz's Finish Carpentry book does a great job explaining proper flashing for windows and doors, with pictures. Good add to the library.
