Heck, that's good info for engineers too. Flitch beams are a lost art, and are not covered by most texts or design classes....that's not a mistake, it's rustic
Just a couple comments about the directions and tables.
The hole schedule does not conform to the building codes. Holes need to be 2" away from the edge of the wooden portions. The schedule calls for them to be only 1-3/4" away.
The wood properties used do not appear to be the same as the properties that are currently allowed.
Get approveal from the AHJ before starting construction.
Alas, this appears to be a bitmap image of some very old text material. That's why it takes up so much space.
