I understand that floating decks are great for a watertight roof seal, but how are they anchored? We get hurricanes, occasional tornadoes, and frequent thunderstorms with winds gusting well above 50 mph.

Most people anchor them with a couple of 1/2 in nylon lines to the shore. Ringbolts sunk into granite secure the lines. When arranging the lines, it's good to be aware of tidal currents and prevailing winds, also the usual route of approach of your boat.

I was more interested in floating a deck over an (almost) flat roof.
