Is it necessary to install a plywood subfloor for a wilsonart type floating floor over a concrete slab? I was led to believe a vapor barrior and padding was all that was necessary under pergo/wilsonart floors. Also has anyone used the wilsonart tap and lock floors. I havent done a wilsonart panel floor in years and recently found out they don’t make the glued plank system anymore. Now it just snaps together? Don’t know if I care for that.

No but it's necessary to install a plywood layer over a wilsonart floating floor that's layed over concrete.
Sorry couldn't resist. I rate wilsonart and pergo right up there with vinyl siding.
What you do need is
1. a dry concrete floor that doesn't have moisture problems because the VB between the two will not help you.
2. a level concrete floor that doesn't have a kinds of hills and hollows to contend with otherwise your joints will fail.

I'm not a fan of laminate flooring but did install a snap together floor last year. I don't know the brand but the substrate edges were coated with wax to seal between pieces. It sure was easy to install.
Smile. It could be worse. You could be me working for you.
