floating porch floor on ruber roof
I have a house that I am building on a river for a client and the master bedroom has a balcony that faces the river, the balcony is under roof, but not closed in(open air). The question that I need help with is WHAT KIND OF FLOORING SHOULD I USE ON THE FLOOR. The floor is about 90 sf, on the north side of the house, and there is a covered porch below this balcony so the balcony floor is constructed with 2 x 12 joists that are ripped to give the flat roof just enough slope for the water to drain. 3/4″ plywood sheathing, rubber membrane applied on top of 3/4″ plywood. Finally 2×4 sleepers ripped to bring the floor back to level and some kind of T and G flooring attached to the sleepers. I do not want to use traditional pine t and g because of the maintenance issue. Any Sugestions? All my suppliers are saying that most t and g products need ventilation? Is there and synthetic flooring that I can use, is the best bet a brazilian hardwood? Thanks

yea, I had Tundura on order and then had to cancel because after reading the conditions that tundura can be used in it needs 18"min ventilation space under it. seems like it can only be used in lab like conditions that so not exist in construction
