I have a repair to make. The house sits on a concrete beam about six inches wide. For about 5′ the supports are rotted, termite riddled away. I only have a 3.5″ opening to install something in that will give some support until I replace the damage. I will try and post a picture tonight of what I am dealing with but I cannot resize at work. I think the smaller one will work just fine as I can put a 4×4 in to rest it on. I’m not postive I need this but the nearest supports to this area are about 12′ away. I am sure this house would not meet today’s building standards since the wall is supported in this area with 2x4s. The mud sill is also 2×4 and it is not treated but does rest on the concrete beam which runs around the perimeter. In my pictures that I took, the floor joists are doubled and appear to be at least 2x8s.

Greetings Harris,
This post, in response to your question, will bump the thread through the 'recent discussion' listing again.
Perhaps it will catch someones attention that can help you with advice.
Go ahead and just post the pic if it's getting complicated and someone will downsize it on here.
Cheers
