I’m working on the floor joist layout on a house with 12″ block walls. If my first joist is 16″ from the rim, the first joist has only 4″ between the block and joist for the mechanicals and electrician to work with.
I thought I would pull that first(and final) joist to 24″ from the rim. This way I gain 8″ more to work with. T&G plywood is rated 24″, so there’s no problem there. Anyone forsee any problems with doing it this way?
