I haven’t ever used the stuff and I’m facing a situation of putting new vinyl self-adhesive tile down over an old vinyl tile floor that is well adhered and seems like a sound substrate. I know there is some concern about the adhesion with self-adhesive tile so I will roll it with one of the flooring rollers.
Anyway, there are a few places where the old tile broke and came loose and an area about 3’x4′ by the door where some sheet vinyl was installed that I ripped up. In those areas the adhesive-coated plywood subfloor is exposed. Is the self-leveling floor patch stuff appropriate for filling in such thin and broad areas. Anything else I should consider using rather than it?
Thanks & happy memorial day! Roy

You can use the self leveling stuff to cover the problem areas then the problem will be to glue the self adhesive tiles to the self leveling stuff.
Ix4" laun after the self leveling stuff should do the job.
Just don't get mix-up with all this self adhesive and leveling stuff because usually 2 positives...you know.
Are you doing this job yourself?

The stuff that Armstrong (and I think the same is available under the Henry Brand) is designed for just such applications.
They say to use it to fill in the embossing that some vinyl patterns have. And that is very thin.
I used some on conrete as a test that goes from about 1/32 to zero.
Bill - do you trowel the Armstrong/Brand stuff or pour it? Sounds like what I need. I'll be on the phone in search of some nearby in the morning. Thanks - Roy
This stuff is trowed on. And it has a fast setting time. Less then 10 minutes.Look at this.http://www.google.com/url?sa=U&start=1&q=http://www.armstrong.com/common/c2002/content/files/712.pdf&e=10141http://www.armstrong.com/resflram/na/tile/en/us/article17898.htmlUnder underlayment. They have 3 types s-194, s-184, and s-193.They are very similar. Locally Lowes and HD both carried these, but a different combination. They used to ahve detailed specs on this online, but i can't find them now.But they have a good 800 number for support and can tell you the difference between the 3.
thanks, Bill!Roy
