Just redoing the carpets in my rental suite and thought it would be a nice touch to put in some ceramic floor tiles at the entrance way. I am wondering if I should raise the area where the tiles will go and by how much to match carpet with underlay?
Thanks

Are you trying to match the height of new carpet, or stuff that has been matted down? How much difference are you trying to make up?
Do it right, or do it twice.
most times the cementbd underlay and tile will make a bearable transition.
edit/ sorry for heading this for you elcid.
Bake, you could take the carpet/pad thickness (about 3/4", a bit thinner for berber) and figure the tile and underlay thickness.
