We’ll find out when the folks at SubZero are open for business, tomorrow, but thought we’d ask it here today.
If you’ve got to hoist one of these heavy fridges up and through a window because it won’t go up the stairs, what do you have to do in modifying the shipping crating, so that it can be tipped over and hoisted with straps, the fridge laying on its side?

I'm no expert but I think in the very least I would remove the doors so the hinges dont get tweaked up. then maybe fashion a makeshift spreader from a 2x4 for where the straps are going to stress the cabinet to keep it from distorting. also duct tape the spreader(s) in place
I dont envy you, I've moved plenty of those beasts

the carcaase is a case to which the decorative sides, if used are added.
getting it thru a doorway required it to go thru sideways, the side almost parrallel to ground

I didn't find mine any different to carry than most others.
Biggest differance is that its top heavy. door came off...everything in side came out...wasn't all that bad to get around. Course I didn't have to go up through a window but from the moving I did have to do it felt about the same.
Personally I don't think its worth the money but that wasn't the question you asked so...sorry.

if you are going up and in with the cardboard still on, My memory is that there is that stiff formed cardboard corners that will take quite a yank withthe strapping chokers immediately under the package, but you can use your sharp pocketknife to let in a small hole to peek and see.
