HELP, I can’t seem to find people that know the pro’s and con’s of open-cell vs. closed cell polyurethane foam insulation. I’m leaning toward the closed, but any thoughts??

Like the last poster mentioned, more info is needed.
In general the closed cell is approx twice the R value per inch, ~6.5-7. This closed cell is vertually waterproof as well. The density is ~2 lb/cu-ft. Open cell is lighter and will let more water through but is fine in a normal conditioned space application in more areas of the US.
All that being said, I own a spray foam company and have the closed cell in my own house. It's the best performance for a little bit more money.

Thank you. That is precisely the information I've been looking for. My new house is located in western New York in the snow belt. We have a great view, but are unprotected from prevailing winds. To take advantage of the view we have many windows facing the prevailing wind direction. I have framed the house, used a house wrap, have asphalt shingles and vinyl siding. I'm almost done with the electric and plumbing so am trying to decide on the best insulation. Your comment is most helpful.
