Tried the AC in the work van today 99 here today and guess what – no go. turned the knob to AC and the idle (rpms) didn’t drop. So I’m thinkin’ that the compressor is not coming on, is there a clutch that may be sticking from not being used all winter. Does the compressor need the 3# hammer treatment? Steamed!!!

Most likely the freon's gone. The units have a pressure switch (to protect the compressor) that won't let the compressor kick in if freon pressure is low.
