Has anyone used the ForeSite antimold coating in an exterior application with a primer and topcoat over it? I have a new constuction house with a currently unfinished open pine plywood eave which has an afinity for mold growth. Yes I know it was a mistake, but as the shingles are on I want to try the less drastic approach first.
ForeSite is a silver based anti mold coating sold here in WA State primarily to spray out stud cavities and framing lumber to prevent mold growth during and after construction. There is a blue and a clear which the literature states is both for interior and exterior applications. The literature is a bit vague on painting over it however and what type of primers are acceptable.
Is this a waste of time and would my money be better spent just buying a good primer with lots of anti mold additive, or would a first coat of the Fore Site product actually help to reduce mold growth if the topcoat were to crack due to any future plywood checking. It is an open eave with 3/4 AC pine ply over Fir rafters.

Thank you. I did manage to contact Envirocare who make this product. Their rep stated that ForeSite coatings are used either by themselves (Blue), or on top of existing paint coatings (using the clear), and not as a first coat primer.
If after painting the plywood I still have some mold issues, I will try it out then.
