I have just purchased a house with a feildstone foundation. Actually fieldstone on bottom brick on top. It leaks a little but seems strong. I want to finish the basement. I don’t want any problems down the road, I would like to back it up the feildstone with a concrete wall. Somebody suggested building a concrete block wall close to the foundation then filling concrete between the two walls. They suggested building the block wall four feet high, then filling in with concrete, once that is set build the rest of the way up and fill with concrete (the block wall acts as a permanent form). Does anyone have any better ideas for a one sided form that will hold the concrete.

Trench the outside and pour it there.
PAHS Designer/Builder- Bury it!
Trench is the only 100% solution -- I have the same deal and we took the short route -- poured wall inside -- you have to seal the wall before it gets to the interior
Building a form is no problem. I've seen guys in Mexico pour a roof with forms made from scrap, nothing longer than 2 feet. It's just a matter of bracing.
Form and brace the inside of the fieldstone and form about 6" from the outside. Some rebar next to the stone and pour a flowable mix so as to integrate the fieldstone into the concrete.
A little more work would be to reverse it and pour on the inside of the wall leaving the exposed fieldstone to the exterior. Maybe less work, since you would not have to trench and form the outside below grade.
