OK Here is my summer project,
A 1930’s house with a pier and beam
Pier’s are Bois dï¿Â½Arc stumps shimmed with what ever was in arms reach
Beams are inconsistent 2 x 6 , 4 x 6 to nothing in some places
So how do i go about fixing it
options
#1 ring the perimeter with 4 x 6’s shimming to level on top of the Bois dï¿Â½Arc stumps
#2 Replace the stumps with 16 x 16 precast footings then stack concrete block, shim to level every 4′ or 8′
#3 ring the perimeter with precast 16 x 16 then build a 2×4 wall the proper height sheeted with osb or plywood
#4 pour a continuous concrete footing around the perimeter then ????
Please point me in the right direction
here are some pictures of what i have to work with
Thanks

First, Piffin's gonna' yell because your pictures take too long on dial-up.
I've done a similar job 20 years ago on my FIL's house, set on locust stumps with log joists. We built lift beams, lifted the house off the old stumps one at a time, destroyed them with a hatchet, cleared the hole, built a form from ground level to the undersideof the sill, and poured a footing out of Sakrete, then set the house back down.
Then we re-sheetrocked; no cracks even today.

The soil i have to work with is a heavy clay
what size footing would work the best

Don't know about your local soils - someone there would be a good bet.
However, my experience has been that just getting the stump or post out makes a HUGE hole, and I wind up with a 24-30" square footing. I try to go 10" below the frost line.
