Framer Needed in Central IL

chief4car | Posted in Help/Work Wanted on May 2, 2007 12:20pm

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a framer in or around Springfield, IL to frame a home. The job would include framing from the foundation up to drying the structure in. Would like this to include installing windows and exterior doors.

Looking for someone dependable and reliable that does quality work. The job would start towards the end of the summer around September 1 of this year.

Anyone interested or know of a good framer I can contact.

Thanks

Jim

I'm trying to think of a couple of names offhand.

Mike Von Behren and Tommy Combs came to mind first. I'll post more if I can come up with them.

        Thanks Boss,

First time I have been able to get back.

Any idea how to get a hold of these guys. You can Email me if you don't want to put that info on the board.

I don't really have any contact info for them - They're just a couple that came to mind that I've dealt with over the years. I'm sure they're in the phone book, or yuo could ask at a lumberyard and get some info. Thinking back - Didn't I email you with my contact information once? Did you ever get that?

If you do call me, be sure to tell me you're Jim from Breaktime. Otherwise I might think you'er another head hunter or phone salesman.(-:

The first time I read this thread title, I thought it said "Farmer Needed in Central Il"

I was thinkin, geez, if you can't find a farmer in Central Illinois by just spittin out the truck window and seein who it hits, then you don't know what you're lookin for.

Actually, framing is the fastest part of building a house, and the most fun to me (as long as it's only once every few years). Have you considered DIY?? I'm actually going to be in Spfld next week, and know how hard to find good one job type help there, Traveling 2000 mi. to re-roof mom's house and re-frame parts to eliminat the box gutters. Brother hired a guy in Spfld to paint her house 3 years ago, might as will have throw the $$ away the job was so bad. DId hire a friend to paint the garage last year who did a great job, but he's not a framer. There's a guy in Carlinville can get good trusses for you <G>

I had forgotten you were gonna be in the area. We need to talk about what day you'll be working, etc. Guess I'll have to drop you an email...
Production is not the application of tools to material, but of logic to work.

I know Framing can be the fastest part, and I have considered DIY, but I do not have the time to physically build this myself. I also want a good framer because in my mind the framing is the skeleton of the structure, and if the skeleton is weak the rest of the structure will follow.

Springfield seems to be full of "Builders" and there are some really good ones and then some fly by night guys. I just posted this here to get a couple of names of known quality guys.

Your right Bosshog in carlinville is great and I will be talking with him soon.

Have fun on your visit to Springfield.

          Jim
