Hello, would like to add an window (approximately 3′ wide) for a future bedroom, would like to do the framing myself and have the window professionally installed. Will probably have to remove one stud (which probably has some sheeting attached to), is doing this sort of framing possible with out messing on the outside of the house, which I would not want to touch until its time to install the window. The wall is the bearing wall for the floor joists, if that make a diff other than installing a solid header.

yes as long as long as you have full access from the inside..
is this window on the 1st floor or 2nd???
is the current framing 16 or 24" OC???
this may require 2 stud removal and temp cripples..

Thanks for the fast response, the window will be located in a room where the wall is approx 3' below grade, build with concrete block supporting the wood framing. I guess you could call it first floor since there is only one floor above it. I belive the framing is 16" oc but will have to check when I get home, so I guess your right about removing two studs.
By temp cripples I assume you mean temp supports before I remove the studs and while I reframe the window.
Also do you see any problem with drywalling prior to installing the window?
Dan
the cripples amount to temp short studs in the RO at original framing OC and lay out for the dry wall...
temp supports are nice to have..

Yes i intended to add cripples where required, guess I should have pointed out that the wall is unfinished (no drywall)
Thanks
