I need some advise in framing the valley for an arched dormer. The roof of the arched dormer extends back level into the 12:12 pitch of the main roof. I need to cut a valley rafter that will accept not only the smooth transition of roof sheathing but of the interior ceiling finish(drywall). Does anyone know how to figure the valley rafter mathematically?
