I haven't seen a book or a video yet. But that doesn't mean that they don't exist...
My suggestion wuold be to get an installer's guide from the manufacturer of the I-joists. There's a heck of a lot of info in those things.
If nothing else, they're definitely a cure for insmonia.

Hey Boss...hope all is well.

Q: What's the difference between a woman and a volcano?
A: A volcano never fakes an eruption.
LOL...no I hadn't. But I was going to ask you if you'd seen any cute nurses lately.
Your story kinda reminds me of the lady cop I told you about. Cuffs...gun...access to jail cells...yikes. Wouldn't want to get on the wrong side.

If you know how to install a floor using dimesional lumber you should have no problems.
The TJI's I've always used usually came with small fold outs showing what specific details you will need to deal with. Usually blocking and bracing areas. They were always randomly attatched to the joists themselves. Your supplier can get you all the info you need. They have TJI spec booklets that Boss mentioned that have all the info you could need. The foldout is a summary, but reall has pretty much what you need to know.
Techniques are really not much different. It's really just the specifics.

For Pros By Pros: Building with Engineered Lumber
Learn to Purchase and Frame Efficiently with Engineered Lumber for High-Quality Results.
John Spier Paperback $24.95
Thanks for every ones advice, I think I might due both, look into the book and ask my lumberyard. I posted something else today about tearing off a small attic room to build a room over the first floor. The problem is the old top plate is so uneven due to saging headers, that I need to shim it level and I am not sure what material to use. I was told by someone that I could not use regular shims. But I dont see why I couldnt. Any input?
You have sagging headers & you are planning to pile more load on?
You might want to rethink this, maybe need some reinforcement under those headers rather than shims on top?
