Framing Wood Beginner (Wall or Ceiling)
Hello,
I AM DOING A REMO OF A MUSIC STUDIO. ALL THE FRAMING HAS TO BE WOOD. MY FIRST TIME WORKING WITH
WOOD. I WILL LIKE TO KNOW SHOULD I START BY THE CEILING FRAMING OR THE WALL FRAMING FIRST.
OR SHOULD I ANCHOR MY CEILING TO ME WALL OR VICEVERSA??
ALSO ANY SITES U RECOMMEND TO LEARN MORE ABOUT WOOD FRAMING.
THANKYOU
ANGEL

ARe you a troll?
Well it might be fun to watch you try the ceiling first without any wall to hold it up.
Just out of curiosity, what have you been framing with prior to this?
Sounds like you are building a "room within a room", so you keep the good sounds in and the bad sounds out.
For wood framing basics, look at the JLC Field Guide. Good illustrations on how things go together.
Sound isolation is a different thing, however.
That is the first thing in this thread that made sense to me.
Music room - sound control!
Ah Hah! The light goes on!
All the framoing for this room should not be connected to any existing framing. Frame walls first, then ceiling. Use caulk to keep air=flow controlled and that will control sound as well. Any conncetions of solid mterls between old and new wil carry lower frequecies in and out. Air gaps wil carry higher fequencies
I really hope this guy isn't making a torture room for a Mexicali Drug Cartel.
Y Knot?
I think all Mexican drug lords should be tortured as much as possible, don't you?
They could be forced to fil out mollums until their fingers bleed
Man, yer gettin like that guy who wouldn't shut up about screws! :)
