Recently bought a set of French doors. Each door has 15 panes of glass. Well each piece of glass has plastic over it.
How is this plastic on the glass? Is it wrapped all the way arround?
Do I leave the plastic on for finishing?
How do I get the plastic off when I’m done?
thanks

The plastic is there to make finishing easier by keeping the paint or stain off the glass. It should peel right off when you're done.

It doesn't appear to be just on the visible surface of the glass. It looks like it goes under the wood mullions (sp?)“The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.” – Albert Einstein
Yeah, I worked with one like that once. I think the full size of the plastic was the full dimension of the glass pane. Just prime, paint, stain - whatever, then zip a sharp utility knife around the perimeter. The plastic will peel away, and you won't even be able to find the remainder.

Like the others, leave the plastic until you've completed finishing.
Another bit of advice, check to see if anywhere on the glass or plastic it says "DO NOT scrape glass with a Razor"
We had a door come in with something like that written on it, painter missed it...
Ended up having to order another French door and start from scratch.
I've never seen glass you couldn't scrape, and I'm sure it wasn't plastic, just a POS door.

Thanks for the advice, that would surprise me too.“The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.” – Albert Einstein
