Planning on building a front entry door much like the one pictured a few months ago in FHB.
Pretty much two squares of insulated glass separated by a center rail. Bottom rail will be 12″ wide. I plan on joining the rail to the stile with mortise and tenon. But at 12″ wide will need to break up the tenon into 2 or 3 parts to accommodate wood movement. The age old dilemma then is where does one apply glue so the rail can expand as needed?

Top 2/3rds. The glass wont get jammed that way, and the bottom sweep/threashes are adjustable.
