You can also use a hacksaw and cut a cross about 1/2" deep on the end of a 6" x 1/2" pc. of CU pipe creating little fingers like a collet. Now jam a keel or lumber crayon in from the other end and they wont break as easily in yer tool bags. Just push more out ( like lipstick) as it wears.
Perfect for the mark...

Ahhh great tip. Do not, however, use a Super Sharpie to push the keel if there is a 1/2" "Shark Bite" coupling on the other end of the pipe. ;>)

The small cap on pop bottles, will cap a 3/4" NPT pipe.
Works best with PVC pipe.

The sealed circular white plastic pull caps from under the screwcaps on some half gallon juice cartons
can be used as decorative plugs on old utility holes in baseboards when sweetening up a room.
just don't ask me how I know this.
One can use a 2" hole saw and a 5 gal. bucket to make nifty "sprung" washers for attaching foam boards.Made a chicken feeder and the scrap discs were just begging for a use.
Congratulations!
