The GAF shingle plant in Baltimore had a fire today when about 23,000 gallons of hot asphalt spilled inside the building.
There are no known injuries.
I’m guessing because of loss production and less supply the cost of shingles may go thru the roof, or what’s left of it.

I just put in a special order for GAF shingles last week. Hope they'd been shipped out already

That's what you get for asking that they put a 'fire under it'. Any luck and they will arrive on site still on fire. Or at least smoldering.
As long as you wanted your special order extra crispy and not original you might be okay.
Your's may be coming from a different manufacturing site, if there is more than one, or perhaps from a distribution site.
Ya might want to give your supplier a call tomorrow to check on the order status.
Depending upon the damage and the disaster recovery plan of the plant's information systems it might take a while before that site can confirm if your order was placed, produced or shipped
Depending upon the supplier's answer, it might be time to consider other options.
