You can try disconnecting the inside pushbutton wires. Possible that there is a short in the wire causing the unwanted operation.
I'm guessing, now, but calibrate the auto reverse according to the instructions. I can visualize if it is adjusted to reverse too close to the bottom, some type of temperature change putting a bit more pressure on the door might trip the auto reverse.
Or could be a neighbor kid with an opener. My neighbor took a spare remote control outside his house and drove his mom nuts by shining it through the window while she watched tv. The laughing gave it away, though.
By 'coincidence', was there dew or frost on the yard the same mornings??
If so, you have a classic case of moisture condensing on your circuit board with a low enough impedance to act like a button pushed.
Had similar years ago with a cheap Genie opener, the solution is to do what military and high end electronics circuit boards always do, which is called conformal coat. You can do the same thing for yours with a cheap spray can of poyurethane spray - mask off any switches, then spray everything, should solve the problem. Clean any condensates off the board first with an alcohol wash (everclear is best, denatured 2nd best). Drink the rest of the everclear on me<G>
