I’ll be building an attached 2 car garage with a single door. Will 2×6 construction and insulation panels under the concrete, make any significant changes, in keeping the heat loss/gain down ?
Has anyone had experience with slideing garage doors? Would a bypass door set-up be the best way to keep the space conditioned?
I’ve never worked with a slideing garage door. Is it possible to make / buy such a bypass door?

I grew up with sliding (maybe--with effort) garage doors. Why not a sectional overhead door? Seals much better, gives a wider space for ventilation when open, and can be powered. Can even look like a slider if that is what you want. I have an overhead gas heater for winter and fans for summer. Insulated to R-19 and rocked by me about 30 years ago just to learn how. Has electrical in conduit on surface around perimeter, junction boxes (quads) about every 6 feet. Also black iron pipe for air with quick disconnects right next to the conduit. Wife complains that we never had a "garage"--it was really a "shop". Don't tell! Thor
I guess I'm a little overtired. It's 3am here. Originally I thought a slider could be more practical. No overhead loss, more insulation, I get to build it :0) After checking the internet I think It'll be a plain overhead door. There's a great site that has tracks that go around the corner, bifold type doors even. Of course that'll take-up wall space!!
