Garbage disposal in off -set sink drain
Hi Y’all:
<!—-><!—-> <!—->
We are remodeling our house and considering Franke or Blanco under-mount sinks with off-set drains located either in the upper corner (Franke) or in the middle (Blanco). These sinks are for two different locations/purposes in the kitchen. We are installing garbage disposals in these sinks, and we want to make sure that we have considered everything we need to consider before we plumb the areas. Your feedback is much appreciated.

Here’s the scoop:
<!—-> <!—->
The first sink would be the main kitchen sink. It measures (outside dimensions) approximately 28 – 30″ side-to-side x 18 – 20″ front-to-back x 10 – 11″ deep and is located in the island. The sink has an off-set drain that sits, again, either in the back (upper) right corner of the basin, or in the middle of the sink at the rear. Either one would be under-mounted in a 33†cabinet base that has an interior side-to-side dimension of 31½â€. We believe there should be enough room for the garbage disposal in this one.

The second sink is a prep sink located on a wall-affixed countertop near the stove. I’m leaning towards the Blanco ELEMENT 1, 512-745, which is 19″ side-to-side x 20″ front-to-back x 10†deep. This sink has an offset drain in the middle rear. It needs to mount in a 21″ cabinet that has an interior side-to-side dimension of 19.5″, so it will be tighter than the main sink. We will most likely have to make some mods to the cabinet.

Our biggest concern/question is if we go with a drain in the upper right corner, can we mount a waste/garbage disposal unit into the sink that has a drain so close to the right rear corner of the cabinet?

Has anyone installed a garbage disposal into a sink with these types of off-set drains, and/or more specifically, a Franke or Blanco sink?
<!—-> <!—->
Also, anyone have anything to say about Blanco sinks? I can’t find any info/reviews on this manufacture.

Thank you for your assistance. It is greatly appreciated.
