Has anyone used the remote countertop garbage disposer switches? The only ones I know of are from In-Sink-Erator and WasteKing. I would appreciate any feedback on function and reliability.

Yes, they're nice.
We have used air switches on the last two kitchens, and are quite happy with the results.
Allows a switch to be counter-mounted right next to the sink. We place them just adjacent the far right corner.
I luuuv mine. I put it above the very narrow backsplash under the window over the sink.

I've used the air switch. it is great necause it can be on the countertop. no need to hide the switch under the sink or tear a wall open to mount it. however, you do need a hole in the countertop. switch is silent and reliable.
The In-Sink-Erator has a second outlet for installing (especially retrofitting) a instant hot water tap. The hot water outlet cuts out when the disposal is on so no breakers get blown. Been meaning to get one so I can install a hot water tap I salvaged.
Thanks all for the replies. Has anyone used the fiberoptic WasteKing switch? I am a little concerned over the membrane switch holding up.
The air switches are the same kind used in hot tubs, spas, whirlpool tubs, etc.
These switches are in heavy use in commercial facilities like day spas, health clubs, etc. There is no reason to think that they are not durable enough for home use in a sink grinder setup.
I agree that the pneumatic switches are fine. The In-Sink-Erator has been around a while. I am concerned over the membrane switch that is on the fiberoptic WasteKing unit and have never seen one except on the Web.
