Working on an 3 story apartment building with a garbage shute for tenants to throw away their garbage. The little trap doors (and its frame) are starting to show its age. They can be easily detached and I suppose I could clean them up and paint them, but a replacement would be ideal.
Any ideas of who I’d ask, or where I would go purchase or have replacements made?

google for laundry chutes. Spell it right and you might get better results.

I'd look for the manufacturer of the existing ones, and hope like he!! they make replacements of the same specifications. AS someone else said, google the manufacturer.
Something you might consider if available
locally is to have them sand blasted and
then powder coated. We have a co. here in this area
that does this and the price is very inexpensive. Their minimum
charge is 25.00 and the more product that needs powder coating
the cheaper each piece is.
And the end results
are as good as new and there are quite a few color choices.

keep in mind if having new ones made that they probably have to be fire rated somehow
