While My Guitar Gently Weeps & Here Comes the Sun are two of my favorite GH songs.
It's sad to hear he's got some serious health issues.
John
*Which is it? Is he still with us?
*No, please no.
*He's not in the headlines here:http://www.bbc.co.ukbut this made the news on the 7th:http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/entertainment/music/newsid_1642000/1642768.stm
*Last reports I heard this morning he was in Staten Island, NJ at a hospital. George has an advanced stage of brain cancer, and is being treated by one of the top cancer physicians in the country.First he was knifed by a crazed fan in his home, and now this.58 years old. Too young.
*...You don't know the true half of it. He is one of OUR heros. OUR is we people that are lost 2 gens before GEN X. WE are the people that HIT Vietnam.Yes, we did the drugs, but we aren't that stupid. WE THINK. It is not a BAD thing. We LOVE freedom. And Tiggers fuck-up......So be it...Peace......Newf...
*Wha?
*Phil, you never learned to communicate in the 60's?Anyway, I'll say one of the best albums ever was done by George Harrison called "Wonderwall" circa 1960's. Thank you George, Hare Krishna.
*Guys i dont even remember the 60s kind of skipped the whole thing.. wow look at the colors man...
*I don't think you get it Ron, nobody who experienced the 60's first hand "remembers" it. We know it from the music and documentaries we buy from Amazon.com or watch on PBS to teach our teen-age kids what lifestyles to avoid.
*Uh Ron, that would be "Listen to all the pretty colors, maaan."
*The 60s were before my time, but I appreciate the Beatles, and will always love Paul McCartney.
*...Like, right on......Oh, shit, don't drop it, you'll burn a hole in it;......Maybe we will, all some day,, live in peace......But first turn sand into glass......Hi ho , way we go, donkey riding, donkey riding......High ho away we go, riding on a donkey......Were you ever in ......hug......
*Somebody take that man's keys away from him.b : )
*I think he did the brown acid. "Uh there is a rumor floating around that the Brown acid might not be particularly good, so you might want to avoid it." Or something like that.
*...Luka, I don't drive!! For every comment people make on this board, I need at least one half hour to respond to!!!! It takes me a long time to type this out. because my brain does not work like yours!!! I suffer from chronic pain and for the past 3 years have been under a lot of shit for pain management. Please don't give me a hard time. I don't need it....Love to all......Newf...(Kelly here... I already took the keys away...but not the keyboard... Bye)...Kelly aka the frog lady...
*Well, I haven't seen the lab reports, but poor George is not going through this because of the illicit drugs he did. I fear the same substance that killed my Mom and many many thousands of others is what is probably killing him. She was 62, she also had metatasis to the brain. I am assuming that this is the case for George, but I don't know. He may have "brain cancer" that is a separate entity from lung cancer, but lung commonly spreads to the brain. It is a horrible way to die and the treatments are about as bad as the disease. There aren't many things that will make me as angry as lung cancer.I discovered the Beatles in 1971. I was sick and my Dad brought me a little radio to have in bed with me. I heard this beautiful song, "The Long and Winding Road," and I was hooked and heartbroken to find they had broken up. I had missed it all, except for Yellow Submarine decals in my cereal box. So I grew up with Elton John instead.I hope George is out of pain, and he deserves peace. Thank you, George, for the music and the fun.
*Newf,I wasn't given ya a hard time, bud. Just ribbin ya.b : )
*...Wish I was there, or you were here......We could be a team!!!......Let's show them.....one dot shy......More meds......The dots are not importa.....I can't do this, sorry. it just takes too much time......I will be back, but this is too much of an outing, I think that Sprout Off is more my speed, there they don't fight, except about organic; COME SEE......Newf......Kelly......Tree Frog Herbs & Flowers ......Peace......All you need is Love......CANADA......Very Together......AS Frank Zappa would say......Don't Eat That Yellow Snow......Tara, Bite Me...
*Theodora D. ...For a second I thought you were talking to George W. ...What A laugh!!!...That took 25 min. to type!!!...Hate the shift keys......n...
*The world needs more George's... and more music....less Osammas ...and less religion. Long live the Beattles...and Woodstock.I remember the late sixties...actually never left.....Imagine.........
*I saw the Beatles in 1964 in Cleveland's Public Hall....Yeah, I know, that makes me a dinosaur!!Anyhoo, I was so astounded at the music and thought, finally, music I can realate to.......Never looked back.....Music benchmarks are still with us today.....Take care, George, it ain't easy........
*OK, Newfie,I give you permission to spell my name with fewer letters if you need to, OK?We can read Ron's stuff fine w/o the shift key, just fine usually. I pretend I'm reading e.e. cumming's poetry.
*...Theo?......T.D.?......td?......Hey, you!......[grin]......n...
*Newf, try .....Tia.....b : )
*yeah, Newfie, you can have "Tia," though I resisted being nicknamed as long as possible!

*shift key?? shift key??.. i dont need no stinkin shift key!!!
*I saw the Beatles at met stadium in Minneapolis in 1965, cost a whopping $5. I missed the Rolling Stones in 64 that played at "Danceland" in Excelsior Minnesota, hardly even knew what either band was at the time.
*Ron,Don't need no stinkin shift key?? Then how do you get the question marks and exclaimation points?Rich Beckman
*He has his wife come in and hold down the shift key, in between beers.
*ah, RJT, I knew who the Beatles were and the Stones were the grunge of Rock and Roll.......I used to listen to a radio station out of Memphis in the late 50's and early 60's.....I knew who they were and where they were coming from......
*I went to Woodstock; it's far more fondly remembered by those who only saw it on the news.
*> I went to Woodstock; it's far more fondly remembered by those who only saw it on the news. LOL! My sister was dating one of the organizers of Woodstock. The next time we saw her we were all excited to hear her stories figuring she had backstage accesss, etc. etc. She said "Are you kidding? It was a muddy mess. I stayed at the hotel!"Rich Beckman
