Hello everyone,
I am installing a steam shower unit that requires a dedicated electrical circuit 30 amp, 220 v GFI protected.
since there s only need for two 110 phases ,and grounding line no neutral involved , my question refers to what type of GFI breaker needs to be installed. As far as I know any GFI breaker either single pole or double pole has a set screw for neutral line, but in this situation there s no neutral coming from steam shower. Is a regular double pole GFI gonna work without connecting any neutral line ?
Any input appreciated and thanks in advance

Yes a 2 pole GFCI will work fine without a neutral load. Go ahead and connect the white wire from the breaker to the neutral bus and leave the neutral into the breaker empty if you are not running a neutral to the tub.
You can't use 2 single pole units.
You need a double-pole (two single-poles will not do it). Leave the neutral terminal unconnected (but connect the neutral pigtail, if your panel uses those). Or, sometimes, it may be wise to go ahead and install cable with the extra wire, in case the unit is later replaced with one that needs a neutral.
