We got our HRV today, it is a Vent-Air VA25. I have some ducting questions.
I was thinking View Image of running 10 or so 2″ id stale air suction pipes to the farthest point in various rooms. 10 2″ id pipes is 31 square inches of area which is a little more than the area of the 6″ stale air inlet (28 square inches). Would this work ok using plastic electrical conduit with smooth 90 degree bends? Or would bigger id pipe be better? I really would like to vent from most individual rooms if possible, especially the basement ones. The HRV will be in the loft and the fresh air should flow through the main first floor room on it’s way through to the basement.
Vent-Air does not recommend venting a stove hood through the HRV so that is out.
Also in a bedroom (or any room) is it better for moisture control to draw from the floor or ceiling?
Thanks for any comments.
