My new house design has a 5ft diameter circular walk-in shower. Half of it sticks out from the exterior South wall and will be glass block.
I live in Pensacola, so while it gets below freezing sometimes in Jan and Feb, it doesn’t get below 20 usually and only for a short season.
I would, however, like to keep the AC in during the summer.
I’d like to hear opinions on wheater I can do this successfully or will I have problems with things I haven’t thought about?
thanks

Tigger,
You can keep more of your AC in if your overhangs shade the glass block in the summer. You wrote that it is on the south side, so you won't need a lot of overhang at noon in June. You will need to especially plan for the afternoon western sun, or your shower will become a furnace.
Similarly, your heat losses in winter can be somewhat offset by solar gains. Is Pensacola sunny in winter? Is the shower area unshaded by trees and neighbors' homes/fences/etc?

I have some big pines due south that are on someone elses property. On the west side a slope will prevent too much direct West sun. You're right about making sure I get enough overhang for the summer.
I had toyed with the idea of putting a pinhold in each block and filling it about 80% full of water with a bit of blue food coloring in it. It
would give me extra insulation and add an underwater look.
