Glass Block / Vinyl-coated steel siding
Hi everyone.
I’m into phase two of my renovation, turning an 80’s bathroom into a more contemporary look. The shower area has an existing metal clad wood frame window, about 30X30 that looks into my neighbours dining room (Hi Barb). Our plan, is to remove the window, make the opening taller, and install glass block.
I’m confident in my demo and framing skills, I’m certain my tile guy can place the glass block, but I’m a little stymied by the required modifications to the exterior steel siding.
What tool is best for cutting the steel-siding in place? I don’t think my demo saw has sufficient control.
IS there a vinyl frame material I could use to .. frame.. the glass block? Something with a flange or nailer? Something I can bring the tile right up to on the inside for watertightness.
When doing a retro-fit of this nature how do I tie-in to the building paper?
Sorry, lots of questions, probably better discussed over coffee than by typing… but if someone can provide a link to an article or..
Cheers

Whatever you do, you need to get the flashing details correct, otherwise you wall might get water from both sides.
