I have a high window in stairway shaft and I want to use the natural light as much as possible. I’ll install open riser stairs but the landing blocks most of the light. I’ve been considering a glass block floor (sanded surface for traction) to transmit the light, or maybe even a large piece of tempered glass over the joists to let the light through. Anyone ever seen or done anything like this?
