used the search function but looking for more info
gloves for dealing with vibration
been using a gas trimmer that leaves my hand and arm kinda numb
probably use them with a palm nailer too
based on the search thinking of bicycle gloves
any suggestions?

bobl, just got a pair of MakForce work gloves from Makita - they are well worth the cost. Dexterity loss is negligible and they do help with vibration as I discovered from using them while operating sawzall.

I have been meaning to buy a pair of the gel palm bicycling gloves but haven't made it to the store yet. The gel is supposed to dampen vibration better than regular padding, but I can't yet speak from experience:

There are anti-vibration gloves available. Google for "anti-vibration gloves" and you'll come up with several hits.
I'm not sure how good bicycle gloves would be -- the padding in them is generally limited to a fairly small area, and it's more oriented to eliminating pressure points vs damping vibration.
Woodcraft carries the anti-vib gloves
Mechanix gloves, at your auto supply store - grease monkeys use them.
I have read that some people, particularly those who don't like gloves, have had some success using the sorbothane, or similar, tape wrapped around the handles. This is usually used for wrapping tennis rackets and is available in sporting goods stores.
I have seen people wrap, hammer, Sawsall and nail gun handles. At least one claimed that it vastly increased comfort and their ability to work longer times at one task. I suppose it couldn't hurt. Last time I saw these wraps they were fairly cheap.
A guy I worked with did that to most of his hand tools, so far I've wrapped my wooden handled hammers and my cats paw... Much better from a grip perspective on the hammers, and I'm betting it's a whole lot better when it really starts to heat up, sweaty hands won't slip on the handle... the cats paw just gives it some cushion when pulling.
I haven't noticed to much difference in impact or vibration on the hammers though..
Try Amazon.com, that's where I picked up a pair of 'anti vibration' gloves
