About a month or two ago, I posted a question about using KD vs PT lumber for sleepers on a slab. Ordinarily, I’d use PT when in contact with concrete, but these sleepers would be used directly under subflooring with a face-nailed pine flooring above that. Since the face nails will be $15/lb rose head cut nails, I didn’t want to even think about the corrosion issues with AQC. Some suggested using KD wrapped in felt or vycor for the sleepers, which is what I was leaning towards, however, when I learned that borate treated 2×4’s were just about the same price as PT, I decided to order up a bunch of the “blue wood”.
Am nearly ready to Ramset the blue wood sleepers to the slab and got to wondering about whether or not there will be any adhesion issues when I glue and nail the subfloor on top of the sleepers
Has anyone done any gluing of anything to this Blue Wood product, and if so, have any issues arisen? Was planning to use PL 400 and either 3/4″ T&G ply or Advantech subfloor.
Thanks
