Customer wants to put heart pine flooring in her basement. Builder contacts Huber for recommendations for applying Advantech, gets a spec sheet back that requires slab to be covered in 6-mil poly, glued to the concrete, with seams overlapped 4″ and glued. Then you can either fasten the Advantech directly to the floor or put down sleepers and attach to them. Builder wants a price to do this from me.
Question: What the heck type of glue do you use? The slab obviously needs to be cleaned but at least it wasn’t sealed.
Anybody here done this? Any tips would be appreciated.
TIA,
Bill

Usually I get that suuff on my cloths and hands by just looking at an open bucket. In this case, I got some on me by just reading about it... ;-( Sounds like a good job for someone else :-)
Dont use poly, check out Delta FL, I will be using it in my basement, do a google search, I dont have the page bookmarked on this computer.
Thanx for the help, guys. I hate asphalt cement, I can get covered with the stuff just walking by a bucket of it. Forwarded the Delta FL link to the builder, we'll see what they want to do.
Thanx again,
Bill
the national hardwood flooring association recommends engineered flooring for this application (basement), not solid wood. if solid wood is used (it really shouldn't) it should only be narrow boards.
