THis is my 1st message. I am doing some repair on an old bathroom with ceramic tile. I need to glue 4″ vinyl cove strips on the old tile at floor level after knocking off the tile projection at floor level. Do I need to abrade the old tile to make the new strip stick?What adhesive would do the job?

Ok, pls explain a little more. You want to apply 4" commercial vinyl cove base along the wall, but I don't follow 'knocking off the tile projection'. What part is that? First, why would you want vinyl base on ceramic tile? But to answer your question, clean the tile well to get off the dirt and gunk, then use vinyl base adhesive. Or use liquid nails and it will stick forever. Double stick tape would work also, and be a little easier to remove later.
Do it right, or do it twice.
