...I just discovered that amazon is also offering $25 off tool purchases of over $199...so I'm emailing them to see if they will tack it on as an afterthought.
That means a 12" Bosch saw for under $200, that ain't bad

Ain't bad at all.

I ran into this when I bought my table saw. I just cancelled the sale, which is easy to do before they ship, and re-purchased with the extra discount.
Looks like a heck of a deal, but the shine isn't off my Dewalt 706 yet.
(and the 'tool fund' is an empty bucket right now) <sigh>

Spending money on tools wouldn't be so bad if I didn't also spend money on other thigns too....like a $600 road bike on ebay.
Those damn bidding wars, they just keep on going up and up!

I purchased the 12" Bosch when it first came out. It cuts well with plenty of power, but it has one huge flaw. It doesn't maintain 90*(bevel) when I 'm cutting miters(45* angles). I actually use it to my advantage when cutting casing, but outside corners on base are tricky. I couldn't return it because my employer paid for half of the tool but kept the receipt. A HD manager later told me that they dropped the Bosch miter saw because of all the problems. I went union about 7 years ago(empolyers supply all power tools) and haven't seen a Bosch miter saw since. Everyone around here seems to prefer yellow. They aren't the greatest for dependability, but they are predictable.
I don't mean to scare you, I would buy Bosch again, just make sure you check it right away. Send it back if you can't maintain 90* at 0*, 45*L and 45*R. I assume they have corrected it since I bought mine. I bought one the first day it was available. In fact let me know if it works well, it would make an economical replacement.
