GOOD DEAL – Third hands at Harbor Freight
Reading the Harbor Freight flyer for breakfast and there on the back page were full sized third hand work supports (45-114″) on sale for 9.99 each.
I had four by 0900 and they went off to make a dust tent for sanding. I know you can pay more for these (I have), but for $10, they look like a good deal. So far, so good.

Are they real Third Hands, made by Fastcap? That's a great price.

No.
Only rated at 66 lbs.
Good enough for tenting though.Remodeling Contractor just on the other side of the Glass City
Yeah, that's one of my most common uses for Third Hands, too. Thanks for the tip, I'm stopping by the local Harbor Freight this afternoon to check them out.Loren Wallace for president.
The 3rd Hands by Fastcap are only rated for 70 lbs, so not much difference.Live by the sword, die by the sword....choose your sword wisely.
Jim,I doubt they are real Third Hands - more like Harbor Freight Hands.
Probably done on the same machines in the same factory in China.I checked Amazon - for $60 you can get two of the real thing. Or scamper off to the Freight and get six - that gives four spares. The ToolBear

Guess I should have started a new thread. Can't see how one could go wrong at that price, and HF usualy will replace broken stuff. I love my Fastcap third hands.

I love my Fastcap third hands.@@@I have had no problems on HF returns. There was that die grinder that smoked in the first 10 seconds. The replacement still works. Survived the job. Just can't stand that sickly orange of the CP power tools.Their ratcheting crimper tool for electrical terminals is fine. We have two. I bought another for me and left the $60 Anchor tool on the boat. This one ran $10 on sale. That said, they were having a sale on unibits and I bought two kits. Those things are wonderful. Other guy drills for this pool sign with standard bits. Leaves raised metal, etc. My unibits leave smooth holes. However, the issue was that the plexi was 24x36 and the sign was 26x26 so it looked a tad odd - aside from being hung several bubbles off level. Not quite the "ambiance for which we are justly famed." He did it on a Friday. His welding repair of a whole section of rotted out "wrought iron" (mild steel tube) fencing went much better. The ToolBear

I love that orange color. If I am not losing tools in the mud, I am losing them in the leaves, the grass, the weeds, the ferns...........That orange makes for fewer really lost tools...
Get your head out of the box.
Yes, bright color helps find stuff. There is a red-orange shade that is far more attractive than what HF uses - which I believe is International Orange.Mine are painted a robin's egg blue (aqua) that shows up very well on the job and (thus far) is not used by anyone else I have worked with.Between that and paint pens, my stuff is easy to find and obviously my stuff, not yours. The ToolBear

I have problem with concrete finisher stealing my shovel, so I got ten cans of the ugliest paint I could fine, went crazy. it was art delco style shovel. They stole it anyway.
I was on a commercial job years ago and the sprinkler guy gets out of his truck in the morning, puts on carharts, puts on a handcuff with the chain attached to his 24" Rigid Aluminum pipe wrench. I asked why? He said "these things are expensive and I have to provide my own, I lost 2, one when it was 4' away from me and I had my back turned. Not going to happen again!" He wore it all day, lunch included. DanT

It was gonna get dirt, concrete, or sh!t on it anyway. Didn't matter what color it was.http://grantlogan.net/

but it was my shovel, I have to pay for them.
With that paint job, you can spot it in his truck - until he gets the lacquer thinner going. The ToolBear
